LTRE-researchers develop new cutting processes as well as blade systems for the harvest of renewable raw materials

27th July 2011

Within the past few years, the changes in the framework for energy policy led to an enormous increase in agricultural surface for renewable energies in the form of biomass. To meet the demand, it is of utmost importance to optimize the processes for the harvest of renewable raw materials thus enabling economic cultivation of alternative resources.

For this reason, the Institute for Engineering in Agricultural Machinery and Renewable Energies (LTRE) at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, has successfully initiated a research project in cooperation with the medium-sized company Jäkel GmbH & Co. KG as of 1st January 2011.
